Ask your MP to read the new report into misleading claims about the benefits of Palantir for the NHS – and to call for the break clause to be triggered

Foxglove has published a new report on Palantir’s NHS England contract. It shows that the figures used to defend the spy-tech firm’s role in the health service don’t stand up – and that ministers kept repeating them in Parliament even after NHS England admitted as much.

Ministers and Palantir have repeatedly claimed that Palantir’s Federated Data Platform helped more than 100,000 extra patients get operations. But hospital-by-hospital data we obtained showed that many hospitals using the tool were doing fewer operations than before they adopted it. NHS England has since conceded that it “cannot therefore draw conclusions about cause and effect”. Yet ministers repeated the claim in Parliament at least eight times afterwards, and the government has refused MPs’ requests to withdraw it.

The government has said it will decide by December whether to continue Palantir’s contract. MPs can put these questions to ministers directly, and the more of them who have read the evidence, the harder it becomes to quietly sign Palantir up for more.
