Yvette Cooper has been Health Secretary for a week, and the decision on Palantir’s £330m NHS contract is already on her desk. She inherits a live government review, a break clause in February 2027, and reported notice deadline of December.

She hasn’t yet said where she stands – so now is the time to push her to do the right thing.

Departments log and count what a Secretary of State receives, and officials brief ministers on it. One email won’t change her mind – a wave of them in her first weeks tells her this isn’t going away.

A few suggestions:

• Keep it short. Five or six sentences is plenty.

• Be polite.

• Say who you are and why the NHS matters to you. An NHS worker, a patient, a carer – it all counts.

• Explain why you don’t think Palantir should be involved in the NHS, and why you want her to trigger the break clause.
