Nearly 3K Foxglove supporters tell Wes Streeting: No Palantir In Our NHS!

Over 2,700 Foxglove supporters have written to the Health Secretary Wes Streeting to tell him Peter Thiel’s spy tech company Palantir should have no place in our National Health Service. That’s amazing! A huge thank you to everyone who’s sent a letter.

Every time a letter is sent to Streeting about Palantir and the NHS, it tells him and the rest of government that Palantir’s involvement in our health service isn’t something they can just sweep under the carpet and pretend is supported by the public.

Not only that, it provides new evidence on the public record of how NHS patients are continuing to rejecting Palantir, echoing concerns from British doctors that the partnership “threatens to undermine public trust in NHS data systems”.

It also demonstrates that the British public rejects a company whose services are being used by the Israel Defence Forces for “war-related missions” in Gaza – where hospitals have been bombed and tens of thousands of civilians have now been killed.

On top of all of that, it turns out Palantir’s tech just isn’t very good. Democracy for Sale revealed major hospital trusts like Manchester and Leeds weren’t using Palantir’s NHS tools, not on moral grounds or concerns over the security of patient data, but because the tools they’d already built themselves were at least as good.

Leeds went even further telling NHS England that using Palantir’s tools would make them “lose functionality rather than gain it.”

For all those reasons and more, we’re going to keep resisting Palantir digging its tentacles even deeper into the NHS and the rest of public services. Thank you for helping us with this campaign – we’ll have more updates soon.
